Our commitments
QualityResulting from working closely in partnership with our chemists and passionate artists, Origin Acrylics embodies first and foremost a commitment to flawless technical quality. Its thick, high-viscosity formula allows artists to preserve the features of their tools. The colours are lightfast, deep and intense. They are essentially mono-pigmentary, which means they retain their brilliance and purity when mixed.
AccessibilityWe are fully of the view that art should be accessible to everyone, and that it is our duty as manufacturers to provide environmentally-friendly alternatives, without compromising on quality and at no extra cost to the consumer.
Eco-designWe are keenly aware of our responsibility to the environment, and have built sustainable development principles into every stage of our design and production processes. From sourcing and formulation to packaging and the manufacture of our products, we painstakingly oversee our entire value chain to ensure that our products have a reduced environmental impact while delivering high levels of performance.
Our eco-design approach
The formulaWe have set up a European sourcing system to curb the negative environmental impact of transporting raw materials. This approach makes a considerable contribution to cutting greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants that are harmful to the environment and human health. Our formula is made up of 96% raw materials of European origin. This innovative formula is based on a fully recycled binder. This component, which stems from the circular economy, cuts the carbon footprint by 80% compared with a non-recycled binder.
PackagingOur paint is packaged in an eco-tube made from FSC®-certified EP paper. This new type of packaging cuts plastic consumption by 59% and CO2 emissions by 35% (data certified by Bureau Veritas compared to a 120 ml plastic tube). This innovation will help to shed tonnes of plastic every year, while guaranteeing the same paint conservation properties. The 480 ml pots are made from 100% recycled plastic. Furthermore, our boxes are made entirely from cardboard, also sourced from FSC®-certified sustainably managed forests, and we endeavour to minimise the use of this packaging. ProductionOur range is manufactured in the south of France at our factory in Gémenos. To limit the environmental impact of the manufacturing process, we are actively involved in 3 key areas: cutting energy consumption at our production site, downsizing the water consumption linked to the paint manufacturing process and reducing our carbon footprint. All the cardboard packaging required for our supplies is either reused or recycled, and our site operates its own water treatment unit for the water used during the production stages.
